BRASS ENSEMBLE

The Brass Ensemble was created in 2004 by Murray Carr with the
blessing of
Peter Ford. Peter was very enthusiastic about members of
the New Horizon's
Concert Bands being able to take part in small
group ensembles. The group
consists of trumpets, french horns,
trombones, baritones, euphoniums, a
bass trombone and tuba. At
present the group is 19 members strong. Thanks
to Justin Hiscox and
Rodger Dunits who often add some percussion to our
concerts. The
ensemble performs at concerts featuring New Horizon's small
groups
along with churches and senior's homes. One of our most favourite
activities, is performing in the malls at Christmas time. The sounds
of carols emanating from brass instruments is very exciting and puts
everybody in the Christmas spirit. A special word of appreciation to
Mark Hiscox and Justin Hiscox who assist with the
ensemble.
