This group was to be formed as an "octet" by members of the Peterborough New Horizons Band in October, 2003. The idea of an octet was dashed when about 20 various musicians showed up to rehearse. After some brainstorming the group came up with the name The Dynamics and Mark Hiscox was recruited as musical director/conductor. We have clarinets, flutes, saxophones, trombones, trumpets, a baritone horn, soprano sax and a percussion section which includes many creative instruments. The Dynamics has performed at a number of venues over the past few years including Peterborough City Hall, the Peterborough County Agricultural Society, a private birthday party, Centennial Place in Millbrook, various retirement homes, a Liftlock Cruise and most recently at the 2006 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in Peterborough County.
